WHY WE MADE THIS

SUNDAY MORNING MEMORY

Our relationship with Gundam did not begin with the original RX-78-2.

It began with the willingness to wake up at six in the morning every Sunday, just to catch another episode before the rest of the day started. The series we grew up watching belonged to the Gundam SEED Destiny era—the world of Strike Freedom and Destiny Gundam—rather than the original Mobile Suit Gundam.

At that age, we did not understand the complete timeline, political conflict, or generations separating one mobile suit from another. What mattered was the feeling: enormous machines moving through space, mechanical details that felt believable, and battles carrying more emotion than we expected from something we initially understood as a robot anime.

Those Sunday mornings became the foundation of this article.

RETURNING TO THE FIRST ICON

Researching the design eventually brought us backward through Gundam history—from the machines we knew as children to the RX-78-2 that established the visual language of the franchise.

Before Strike Freedom spread its wings and before Destiny Gundam entered the battlefield, there was the original white, blue, red, and yellow machine piloted by Amuro Ray. The RX-78-2 introduced the proportions and recognizable face that would continue to echo through future generations of Gundam.

It is more than an early mechanical design. It became an icon capable of representing the entire Gundam universe.

RX-78-2 and its descendants have been reconstructed as monumental public statues, turned into countless model-kit interpretations, and continually reintroduced to people who may never have watched the original 1979 series. It was the first doorway—and decades later, it remains one of the most powerful.

A HOBBY THAT OUTGREW THE SCREEN

Gundam no longer exists only as a television series.

Gunpla transformed its mechanical world into something physical: a hobby involving building, painting, engineering, modification, photography, and collecting. Its culture can remain active between broadcast cycles because every builder creates a new relationship with the machine in their hands.

For many adults, Gunpla now occupies the same personal territory as cars, watches, sneakers, sports memorabilia, or audio equipment. It offers mechanical appreciation, technical progression, personal customization, and the satisfaction of understanding every component.

Some people remember the story. Others study the engineering. Some collect sealed boxes, while others spend weeks modifying a single model.

Gundam gives all of them a place to belong.

THE IDEA

The front artwork places the RX-78-2 inside a chaotic space battle against Zeon mobile suits, including the unmistakable Zaku silhouette.

Rather than presenting the Gundam in a clean heroic pose, the composition captures it in the middle of conflict. The RX-78-2 moves upward from the lower half of the graphic with its shield raised, surrounded by enemies approaching from several directions.

Above it, an enormous Zeon machine falls toward the viewer as an explosion opens behind its body. The extreme perspective makes its feet and thrusters feel close enough to leave the surface of the shirt. Smaller mobile suits appear around the central confrontation, creating the impression that this is only one moment inside a much larger war.

The hierarchy deliberately moves from destruction to resistance: explosion at the top, enemy pressure through the center, and the RX-78-2 continuing forward from below. It turns the front into something closer to vintage model-kit box art or an old science-fiction battle poster than a conventional character graphic.

The artwork is printed over a faded space-blue body. The washed surface softens the saturated color and gives the garment the character of an object recovered from an older generation of anime merchandise. Against this blue, the RX-78-2’s white armor remains immediately recognizable, while the darker Zeon machines appear to emerge from deep space.

There is no large headline on the front. The machines tell the story themselves.

On both versions, the back is intentionally quieter. A compact original Mobile Suit Gundam title treatment sits within a large outlined “G,” leaving enough negative space for the faded fabric to remain visible. After the intensity of the battle graphic, the restrained back hit works like an archive stamp identifying where the image began.

The long-sleeve edition expands this identity across the arms. Japanese Mobile Suit Gundam lettering runs vertically along one sleeve, while the E.F.S.F. insignia and RX-78-2 designation reference the military markings and technical labels found throughout the Universal Century world.

These sleeve graphics make the long-sleeve version feel closer to a pilot uniform, mechanical development garment, or piece of fictional military equipment. The short-sleeve keeps the same battle and back identity in a simpler silhouette.

The front captures the conflict that created the legend.
The back preserves the name that survived it.

SHIPPING & IMPORT DUTIES

SHIPPING AND IMPORT DUTIES POLICY

Last updated: 17 September 2026

ORDER PROCESSING

Orders are generally processed within 3–7 business days after payment has been successfully confirmed.

Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, Indonesian public holidays, and any temporary closure period announced by DRU.

Pre-order, made-to-order, or special-release products may require a longer processing period. When applicable, the estimated processing period will be stated on the relevant product page or communicated separately.

Processing time is separate from the carrier’s estimated delivery time.

SHIPPING WITHIN INDONESIA

DRU provides a domestic shipping subsidy of up to IDR 35,000 per eligible order.

If the available shipping rate is IDR 35,000 or less, the order may qualify for free shipping. If the shipping rate exceeds IDR 35,000, the customer is responsible for the remaining amount displayed at checkout.

Shipping availability, rates, and estimated delivery times depend on the destination, package weight, and courier coverage.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Complimentary standard international shipping is available for eligible countries and regions currently supported at checkout.

International orders may be shipped through POS Indonesia, Rayspeed, or another appropriate delivery partner. DRU reserves the right to select the carrier and service based on the destination, package requirements, availability, cost, and expected delivery performance.

Free international shipping covers the transportation charge selected by DRU. It does not include import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, brokerage fees, storage fees, or other charges imposed after the parcel reaches its destination country.

DELIVERY ESTIMATES

Delivery estimates shown at checkout or communicated after shipment are estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Delivery may be affected by:

• Customs inspections and clearance;
• Local carrier operations;
• Public holidays;
• Severe weather or natural events;
• Incorrect or incomplete delivery information;
• Remote-area delivery limitations; or
• Other circumstances beyond DRU’s reasonable control.

A delay caused by a carrier or customs authority does not automatically qualify an order for cancellation or refund.

CUSTOMS, IMPORT DUTIES, AND TAXES

International orders are generally shipped with import duties and taxes unpaid unless checkout expressly states otherwise.

The recipient is responsible for determining and paying any import duties, taxes, customs fees, brokerage charges, or other government charges imposed by the destination country.

Customs regulations vary by country. DRU cannot predict or guarantee the amount that may be charged. Customers should contact their local customs authority before ordering if they require further information.

Free shipping does not mean that an order is free from import duties or local taxes.

REFUSED OR UNCLAIMED INTERNATIONAL PARCELS

If a customer refuses delivery, fails to pay required import charges, provides an incorrect address, or does not collect a parcel, the shipment may be abandoned, destroyed, or returned to DRU.

Where a parcel is returned, any return shipping fees, duties, taxes, storage charges, carrier fees, and related costs may be deducted from any refund permitted under applicable law.

A refund cannot be guaranteed if the carrier or customs authority abandons or destroys the parcel.

ADDRESS ACCURACY

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, recipient name, postal code, email address, and telephone number.

Contact drubasic@gmail.com immediately if an address needs to be corrected. Address changes cannot be guaranteed after an order has entered processing or shipment.

DRU is not responsible for additional costs or delivery failures resulting from incomplete or inaccurate information supplied by the customer.

TRACKING

When tracking is available, tracking information will be sent to the email address associated with the order.

Tracking updates are provided by the carrier and may take time to appear after dispatch.

LOST OR DAMAGED SHIPMENTS

If tracking shows that a parcel has not moved for an unusual period, or if the parcel arrives visibly damaged, contact drubasic@gmail.com with your order number and supporting photographs or video.

DRU will assist with the carrier investigation where possible. A replacement or refund will only be issued after reviewing the circumstances and, where applicable, receiving confirmation from the carrier.
