The front captures The Rolling Stones in their natural environment: performing.
Mick Jagger occupies the center of the composition with one arm raised and the Union Jack stretched across his body. His movement creates the primary vertical line, while the remaining band portraits emerge from the shadows around him.
Keith Richards appears in green beside a guitar covered with yellow and red creature-like markings. Additional monochrome portraits balance the composition, creating the feeling of several live photographs cut apart and reconstructed into a single tour poster.
Above them, THE ROLLING STONES appears in oversized red-and-white lettering. The type is intentionally heavy, compressed, and weathered, recalling the hand-separated colors and imperfect registration of older concert merchandise.
White graphic lines move behind the portraits like enlarged symbols painted onto a stage backdrop. Near the bottom, the Voodoo Lounge title is constructed from dark red geometric letterforms, partially disappearing into the black fabric.
The palette is deliberately limited: faded red, dirty white, electric blue, poisonous yellow, and deep green. These colors appear against a washed-black base through rough halftones and cracked surfaces, giving the entire composition the character of a shirt that has already passed through years of concerts.
TWO DIFFERENT BACK HITS
SHORT-SLEEVE VERSION
The short-sleeve back uses a compact, colorful arrangement positioned between the shoulders.
A collection of red, blue, yellow, and green tongue-creature motifs gathers above a VOODOO LOUNGE TOUR banner. The smaller placement leaves generous negative space around the artwork, giving it the feeling of a rare tour-crew shirt or an understated souvenir discovered at an old merchandise stall.
It is the quieter back hit—but also the more colorful one.
LONG-SLEEVE VERSION
The long-sleeve back takes a larger and more aggressive approach.
A group of roughly illustrated faces appears in distressed white, resembling photocopied sketches from an underground concert flyer. A faded red VOODOO LOUNGE TOUR banner anchors the composition below them.
Oversized white symbols continue down both sleeves, allowing the artwork to surround the body rather than remain confined to the chest and back. The result feels closer to a fully illustrated stage costume—raw, graphic, and visible from every angle.
The two versions share the same front, but they leave different impressions.
The short sleeve feels like a tour souvenir.
The long sleeve feels like part of the show.
