the-holy-mountain-bootleg-movie-tee
The Holy Mountain by Alejandro Jodorowski Bootleg Movie Tee

THE HOLY MOUNTAIN — ALEJANDRO JODOROWSKY

WHY WE MADE THIS

Some films tell you a story. The Holy Mountain turns the story back on you.

We made this piece for those who reached the end of Alejandro Jodorowsky’s journey and felt the screen suddenly disappear. After all the symbols, rituals, and promises of enlightenment, the film leaves us with a painfully human question: what happens when we stop looking for someone or something else to give our lives meaning?

The mountain disappears. We remain.

Real life awaits us.

THE IDEA

The front draws from the film’s final awakening. Faces emerge from the darkness beneath the words “This Is Maya,” confronting us with the possibility that everything we have been watching—and everything we have been chasing—is another illusion.

“Real Life Awaits Us” sits below them like a final invitation: leave the spectacle behind and return to your own unfinished life.

On the back, figures gather around a flame beneath a litany of everything that must be surrendered—pleasure, pain, friendship, love, the past, and desire. The arrangement suggests the frightening moment when the identities we have built begin to fall away.

The visual balance shifts between the two sides. Large faces and expansive title lettering make the front confrontational, while the stacked text and circular gathering on the back create the rhythm of a ritual.

Distressed typography, washed-black fabric, and a faded blue, green, red, and ochre palette give the piece the feeling of a forgotten film artifact—something carried out of an old midnight screening and kept for years.

The front represents waking from the illusion.
The back represents what awakening may ask us to leave behind.

DETAILS

230 GSM heavyweight 100% cotton

Oversized, boxy silhouette

Dropped shoulders and roomy sleeves

Full-size front and back graphic artwork

Distressed, vintage-inspired visual treatment

Washed-black finish

Made in Indonesia

FIT

Oversized, relaxed fit with a boxy shape and dropped shoulders.
